Today will be short and sweet, because I’m spending time getting reacquainted with my kitchen. Apples and pumpkins are on the menu in my house. I’ve got a boiling water bath going right now to can my applesauce, a family recipe from grandma. Check back next week to see how it turned out.
Your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to make a favorite family recipe, then call your mom or grandma, or whoever gave you the recipe and tell them how it turned out. If you don’t have a family recipe, even better. You get to call a family member and ask for one.
I don’t know about you, but in my family the gatherings always happen around the food. Christmas is grandma’s meatballs; Thanksgiving is mom’s turkey and dressing sandwiches. The holidays wouldn’t be the same without those food traditions. Spend time now bonding with your family members and learn how to make those food favorites.
Bonus challenge: If you have kids, let them help!
Tell me what your favorite family recipe you’ll be making!
