I’m travelling to Iowa this weekend for a family wedding, so naturally I’m spending five days this week preparing for a two day event. When you only see people a couple times a year you have to look your best. I got my eyebrows done Tuesday, today is hair and tomorrow is nails. I’m also working that full time job, blogging every day and squeezing in sleep every now and then. On top of all that, have to think about what to pack so I can look amazing at all times for three straight days.
I decided to merge my blogging with my packing and throwing it out there for an opinion to see what you think of my outfit choices.
The weather is better in Iowa than in Houston right now (by better I mean colder – in my book that’s better). I have to dig out and dust off the very small winter clothes section of my closet. The days are in the 70s but the nights are going to be around 30/40 (did somebody say winter coat?!). I’ve got to be creative about getting wardrobes for different seasons into one carry on which means layering. Layering is the answer to almost every fashion dilemma. Just layer and cinch it.
The first look will be a travel outfit/going out look. It’s a lot of black and leather, but fall weather kinda makes me want to dress like a badass. Cold air makes me feisty. The best part about this outfit is that I already have all these pieces, or similar ones, in my closet.
The second look for day is a more casual look that pays homage to my dad’s farmer look. He has had some version of this shirt my entire life. I wish I had all these pieces in my current wardrobe – especially that beautiful Louis bag. I’ll keep dreaming and instead find a target bag in a similar color. Maybe I’ll use my crafty embroidery skills and throw an LV on it. I’m sure no one will notice.
And finally, the featured look: the wedding outfit. I have a dress in the same style from Anthropologie that I’ll be wearing and I am drooling over that floral purse.
Which outfit do you like the best or what would you change about them?
