I’ve been super busy over here at farm girl headquarters. Christmas is just around the corner and stacks of gifts have taken over my living room. I have a few other major projects going that have taken up huge chunks of my time. Like my day job, that is constantly getting in the way of my sleeping in and full days of online shopping. I also have a super cool Etsy shop that just opened, and I think you should totally go check out. My Etsy shop even has an Instagram account, because it’s so fancy. Feel free to follow me, I mean my shop. Not to brag, but 17 people already think my stuff is worth looking at.
In order to tackle that mound of presents that I have to give to other people and can’t keep for myself, I’ve been scouring Pinterest to get ideas for cute wrapping.
I put together a few of my favorite unique gift wrap ideas to inspire you to make your presents stand out this year. Click on the links in each description to get more information. You can also find all of these pinned on my boards.
These adorable kraft boxes look great with the black and white ribbon, and I love adding a little greenery accent. What is more Christmasy than boughs of holly? (Nine & Sixteen)
This box looked okay. Then it got paper flowers, and it turned into a work of art. The best part about this one? There’s an easy tutorial to show you how to make your own box adornments. (Frog Prince Paperie)
There’s something about brown paper that feels nostalgic to me. I love the simplicity of this idea – mixing the brown paper with burlap ribbon, twine and a little greenery. This box says, “I walked outside, here at my farm, and procured all natural materials to create a true country feel to wrap up whatever’s inside.” It also says “I’m pretty.” (Wreath tutorial: Craftberry Bush)
This is such an easy look to recreate. The key here is layered ribbons. If you’re like me and you have a ribbon obsession (what, not everyone has a ribbon obsession?) then you can use up some of your stash to make this look with what you have on hand. I’m a big fan of using what I have lying around the house. (Image from Pinterest)
I fell in love with this idea the second I found it on Pinterest. This is so cute I want to give every gift forever like this. If you do this, everyone is picking your gift for the white elephant. And you know white elephant is just like the playground. No one wants to get picked last. (Gypsy and the Kid)
Our gifts from Santa were always wrapped in newspaper, so when I see this it takes me right back to childhood. This is a cheap and environmentally friendly way to wrap your gifts, and you can step it up a notch by adding some cute newspaper flowers like in this picture. You could add a little paint or glitter to those flowers to bring more color into this package too. Or you could just use the funnies. Did anyone else call the comics section the funnies, or was that just us?
On many occasions I’ve used ornaments to jazz up presents, but I don’t know if I’ve ended up with one this cute. I love the glitter Rudolph combined with the white and gold paper. However, I am a fan of color, so I’d combine this look with a teal or pink ribbon (this idea and more: Monika Hibbs)
And speaking of pink, how about this cute combo? I love the mixture of kraft paper on one gift with a bright pattern on the second. Throw in a cute tag, a gold glitter fern and you’ve got a winning combination. (Get the tags here)
